Aviation Maintenance Technician and Training
An Aviation Maintenance Technician is in high demand. For every one hundred hours that an aircraft is used for hire, it must go through a thorough aviation maintenance process. This aviation maintenance, combined with annual inspections and routine maintenance repairs create a tremendous need for qualified licensed aviation maintenance technicians.
The people who inspect, maintain, and repair aircraft must be licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration. In Spartan’s Aviation Maintenance Technology training program, not only will you gain the knowledge and skill required to obtain your FAA airframe and powerplant licenses, you will also gain the confidence and training required for top performance on the job in aviation maintenance. No experience is required! In this aviation maintenance training program you will learn everything from changing a tire to rebuilding a turbine engine. You will also learn about all types of aircraft from a small single engine airplane to a large transport airplane like those used by the major airlines. If you want to be a licensed aviation maintenance technician and enjoy working with your hands, this could be the right career training for you!

As an aeronautical college that has been training people since 1928, Spartan has an extensive history of contributions to the aviation industry. From the beauty of simple careers that formed the backbone of an industry which is taking us into space, to those leadership positions that are spearheading the advancing technology of the industry, Spartan is well represented all over the world. We have become more than simply a training institution, but also a fellowship. We're a community of those committed to meeting the needs of the ever evolving world of aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, and other related technological fields. We could encapsulate Spartan history in a few broad pages describing it on this site, but the real history of Spartan resides in the minds and lives of its alumni!

Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology offers programs in Professional Pilot, Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Electronics (Avionics), and AASA Instrument/Electronics (Avionics). Spartan also offers associate and bachelor degrees.

Education in more than one discipline can often prepare a graduate for expanded career opportunities. Graduates of our technical programs have added another entire program, or have even gone from completing a technical program into flight training to become as diverse as possible.

Spartan participates in federal student aid programs. The types and amounts of financial aid awarded are determined by financial need. Total program cost and length will vary depending on a student’s chosen course of study.
Spartan maintains industry-current equipment to offer hands-on training that prepares students for entry-level career positions. Spartan has over 25 aircraft for technical training and maintains a fleet of over 45 aircraft for flight training.

Spartan offers ongoing career services to our graduates. Career services include: resume creating, on-campus recruiting visits, and interview skills training.
